Application for Membership
Salem Electric is a not-for-profit cooperative corporation that delivers electricity to their consumer-members at cost. To sign up for service, a completed membership application must be received by Salem Electric’s office two (2) business days prior to the requested service connect date. By accepting service from Salem Electric, you agree to abide by the bylaws, policies, and procedures of the cooperative.

Contact Salem Electric at 503-362-3601 during business hours to verify your identity through an online verification process and complete the application online.
Complete application, sign, and bring in-person to Salem Electric with government-issued photo ID.
Complete application, verify identity with a notary and return the original application to Salem Electric.
Membership applications are available in our office or can be filled out electronically and printed using the link below.
Ways to Pay Your Bill
Our office is located at 633 7th Street NW, Salem, Oregon and office hours are Monday–Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30p.m. excluding holidays. A walk-up lobby window is available during the lobby closure.
A quick way to make a payment without accessing account information. Only the account number and last name are required, allowing you to make a payment on your own account or help a friend or family member in need.
SmartHub is a web and mobile app that lets you view and pay your bill, monitor your electric use 24/7, manage your account, and receive billing notifications to ensure you never miss a payment. Payments can be made through SmartHub with just a few clicks.

Payments are automatically deducted from your checking, savings, VISA, or MasterCard 10–14 days after you receive your monthly statement. Proof of payment will appear on your bank or credit card statement. There are three ways to sign up for AutoPay: through SmartHub, over the automated bill payment line, or in person in our office. AutoPay is convenient, reliable, and offers peace of mind knowing your bill will be paid even if you’re away from home.
To avoid seasonal fluctuations, your monthly bill is calculated by averaging your previous bills. Average pay is available for residential members who have had continuous service for at least six months. Both the average pay amount and account balance will show on your statement.
