Wildfire Season

Outages During Wildfire Season

Salem Electric is not in a high-risk area for wildfires, but because transmission lines that supply electricity to Salem Electric cross areas that are high-risk, there is potential for the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) to impliment a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) when hazardous weather conditions threaten thier ability to safely deliver power. Wildfires can start suddenly and grow quickly, so it is important to be prepared and have a plan. Learn more about a PSPS and what you can do to get ready for an outage.
