Board Action
The Board approved updates to the Board Consultants Policy that were recommended by the Board Policy Committee, and adjustments to the 2024 budget were approved as presented.
General Manager's Report
Tony Schacher announced that Sydney Moneke, a West Salem High School junior, was selected as the Salem Electric delegate for the NRECA Youth Tour. Sydney will travel to Washington D.C. in June and join thousands of other students who will have the opportunity to learn about the electric utility industry and how the federal legislative process works.
Schacher updated the Board on the call to Governor Kotek’s environmental staff where utility industry managers explained the pending negative consequences relating to limiting power generation at the Lower Snake River Dams.
