Support of Northwest RiverPartners
The Board approved a $1,500 donation from the board donation fund for the Northwest RiverPartner’s hydropower campaign to promote the benefits of clean renewable hydropower.
Safety Policy Reaffirmation
To show an ongoing commitment to provide a safe work environment, the Board reaffirmed Salem Electric’s Safety Policy.
Ted Case, executive director of ORECA (Oregon Rural Electric Cooperative Association), gave a report on discussions at the Capitol with regard to removal of the Lower Snake River dams. Ted Case has a meeting scheduled with Governor Brown to discuss how critical the Lower Snake River dams are to Oregon’s utilities and the essential role they play in providing carbon-free, low-cost power.
Nine electric vehicle chargers have been purchased through the Electric Vehicle Level 2 Charger incentive program that started July 1.
The resumption of disconnects for non-payment started July 13. Before disconnection, members were contacted several times by both mail and phone, and staff personally contacted members to offer payment arrangements, financial assistance through SE’s COVID-19 Member Assistance Program, and contacts for agencies that were providing relief.
