Board Meeting Summary July 27, 2021
The Board of Directors did not pass a facility plan recommendation as it was presented and asked staff for additional information. The facilities plan includes upgrades to mechanical, building, and electrical systems on Salem Electric’s 40-year-old building, additional covered storage to increase the life span of line trucks and material inventory, and development of a Salem Electric property in northeast Salem for material storage to increase resiliency.
General Manager Tony Schacher reported that the Bonneville Power Administration Record of Decision is expected to be released this week which will assist the Board Rate Committee in their evaluation of rate adjustments for this fall.
Staff is completing preparations for the upcoming Board of Directors Strategic Planning Meeting which will provide guidance for the co-op for the next 3–5 years, and the mask mandate for employees has been lifted following the most recent guidance from Oregon OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration).
