The Board of Directors passed a rate recommendation from the Board Rate Committee. An average overall rate increase of 5% over all classes will take effect October 1, 2021. The adjustment is part of a rate strategy that provides sufficient revenue for Salem Electric’s operating and capital needs while factoring in the equitable allocation of costs to all rate classes. The Board also approved adjustments to the schedule of charges and to rates for street and area lights.
General manager Tony Schacher was appointed to represent the cooperative on the Northwest Requirements Utilities Board of Directors.
