Farewell Jerry—Thank You for Your Service

It is with deep gratitude we bid board member Jerry Berger farewell. Jerry joined the Salem Electric Board of Directors in 2002. In his twenty years of service, he has served with distinction as president, vice-president, and secretary. During his tenure, SE has maintained industry-leading member satisfaction and reliability while keeping rates below regional and national averages.

“It has been an honor and privilege to serve with Jerry,” said Dave Bauer, Salem Electric board president. “Throughout his tenure on the Board, his decisions have been guided by a caring regard for our members. I will miss his opinions and insight on the issues important to Salem Electric and wish Jerry all the best.”

Since retiring from Chemeketa Community College in 2002, Jerry has dedicated himself to giving back to the community. In addition to his work on Salem Electric’s Board, he has served on several other boards and commissions including K-12 and higher education boards, the Family YMCA of Marion & Polk Counties board, and has been a Rotary Club member for over 23 years. When asked what motivates him, Jerry responded, “I believe it is imperative that, if we want a strong community, each person must be involved and give of oneself.”
