Cybersecurity Awareness Month
Technology breaches and cyberattacks have unfortunately become commonplace; however, by keeping your personal defenses up and implementing safety precautions you can help protect yourself from being a victim of a cyberattack.
- Make sure your computer software, including your web browser, is updated with the latest patches.
- Create strong passwords. It could take up to 200 years to crack a 12 character password!
- Treat public Wi-Fi networks as a potential security risk. Never check financial or sensitive data when using public Wi-Fi.
- Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been a significant increase in the number of cyberattacks. Remember to stay vigilant and think before you click!
