From the General Manager—Tony Schacher
Dear Salem Electric Members,
The impact of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has been devastating to many in our community. In these uncertain times I want to assure you that Salem Electric is committed to delivering safe, reliable, and affordable power, while taking steps to ensure the health and safety of our employees and members. To promote social distancing, we temporarily closed our office to the public and continue to remain available by phone and email during regular business hours.
To further support members impacted by COVID-19, Salem Electric temporarily suspended disconnects for inability to pay and late fees. If you are having difficulty paying your bill in full or on time, please contact us to set up a payment plan. Assistance is available for qualifying residential members and businesses affected by Governor Brown’s Executive Order. For more information please contact us at 503-362-3601.
To ensure the ongoing safety of our workforce, employees who can, are working from home. Employees who must work on-site or in the field are working staggered shifts and maintaining safe social distances. We are also taking extra precautions to make the work environment as clean and safe as possible.
As we respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, we will continue to focus on maintaining a healthy workforce so that we can provide the reliability and service members expect. We will keep members updated of any changes through Facebook and our website, SalemElectric.com.
